Tower Gateway station temporary closure from June 2008 to Spring 2009

As part of DLR’s £850 million Investment Programme to improve and upgrade its stations, trains and infrastructure, Tower Gateway station will be closed from the 28 June 2008 until Spring 2009.

The closure of the station is necessary to enable us to keep pace with increasing passenger numbers by extending and modifying platforms to accommodate three-carriage trains. Once completed passengers will experience more space on the platforms, longer canopies for weather protection, easier boarding and alighting from trains, and new energy efficient escalators.
